Regarding Mark's comments on the non period photos I am with him on this one (What a surprise eh LB ), As 47knuck has been proving lately (and LB in his most recent posts) there are still lots of period shots that have not been seen before in this thread so there is absolutely no reason to pollute it with shots of cars with out of era wheels etc.

I know some feelings might get hurt, but Roo hit the nail right on the head.
If we want to see “nostalgia race cars” with vintage bodies and modern wheels and scoops,we could just go to the track and watch bracket races.
He’s 100% correct that there are plenty of vintage photos out there to add to this thread.
I appreciate everyone’s hard work when posting, but quality wins over quantity every time, and this site is all about quality.;)

In a sense, you make a good point, and if people posted actual photos and not pics that have
been pulled from HOT ROD, Car Craft, Super Stock & Drag Illustrated, etc., I might agree with
you. Polluting is a strong term to use here. If it comes down to seeing tired professional magazine
shots or "late model" photos, I'd prefer the latter. I'd love to see the photos that HAMBERs have
in their collections, even so-so or poor shots. They give a feeling of being at the track, but I'm
sure some fellows are still hampered by not fully knowing how to post their pics.

I appreciate that you presented your feelings in a civil matter. There's so much negativity in
daily life that we don't need it here. The H.A.M.B. should be a place to escape to.

Congrats to POWRSHFTR, QUICK85, and ROOMAN, for arguing their side in a CIVIL way. All have points that are viable and now we have to evaluate those points and also pay attention to the HAMB rules.
I have posted my personal collection pictures of fuel altereds for everyone's enjoyment. I have top fuel pictures also but they are not from the time frame that the rules call for so they will not be posted here.

Sky Six,you’ve got a goldmine in photos....It’s so cool to see pictures I’ve never seen before,as some of the picture threads eventually start recycling photos once they get to be thousands of pages long.
47Knuck is showing up with some killer material too.
And LB: You know I love you,Brother....Just take your time, and enjoy,Buddy!
I think you work so hard at posting pics in all these threads, that it’s becoming more work than play for you,and it may be siphoning some of the enjoyment out of it for you.
Don’t worry Brother;it’s all gonna be here tomorrow, too.
Are you going to the Meltdown? If so,please stop by and say hello!
    You know the car.

Rooman, the two shots you posted are perfect examples of what I would not post. Like many of
the HAMB faithful I believe you have to draw a line somewhere and these tubbed, slammed and
fully caged cars are a good place to start. Cars like these may be tagged as nostalgia racers, but they're
far from it. In the early and mid '90s Arnie the Farmer and Dyno Don were match racing each
other again and I was so disappointed to see the updated cars, but then safety has to enter the
    picture. So, good bye "vintage".

As for original pics versus magazine, well, I'm going to stick with my feelings. There are many
on the H.A.M.B. that seem to revel in the fact that they're old timers, so I'm thinking damn
near all have them have seen the magazine photos through the years. I know that I've "liked"
many of the magazine shots but they've been the ones that aren't glaringly professional. I
don't begrudge anyone posting them, I've learned to scroll past what I don't care to see.

The first pic of Proffitt's Chevrolet sponsored by Cone Chevrolet in Fullerton Calif. brought back great memories. I purchased two cars there and was always in service dept. The service manager was Dave Beebe !

Yep that be the one. Southern California was so great to be a young kid in. Dave was at Cone, Jess Tyree was at Selman (maybe Courtesy) Chevrolet for a while, Leon Fitzgerald had a shop in Buena Park for a while, Ray Alley had Engine Masters in Garden Grove, 555 Automotive was in Stanton, Von Fritch Engineering was in Garden Grove, Reath Automotive was on Cherry in Long Beach.
The list was to long to remember.

Absolutely correct, but Dave and Tim split up because Dave was tired and John Mulligan took over the seat for Dave and that's where Beebe & Mulligan got started. I have pictures of them together.

Great pics folks! I want to go back to 1966 and put Doc Spence in the Skootin' Cuda up against Charlie Allen. Don't miss it, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

Here some shots that I pulled from a November 1963 Hot Rod Magazine that I was looking through.....even grabbed a couple of cool ads from the magazine that I thought kind of went with the theme...sorry about the roadster's they got by me.... Just an FYI, I was not offended, that's sort of an over the top word. I think you have some great stuff that you contributed. Thank you.
