Who has a STRAIGHT 6 in your HotRod? Come On, stand up!

Sorry Fordfltrucknut, I didn't think about your truck being a 4X.
If it was 2WD it would've been easier to fit in your truck.

 

I have a little 235 in my. 51 five window.

That's pretty. Tell us about the blower setup. 6:71? Underdrive/overdrive? cfm's?

 

Looks to be 4-71. Nice job! Nice front snout. Is it hard to get the belts lined up correctly?
Looks like an oil line is plumbed into it.

 

Actually, looks like the fuel line going into a finned aluminum filter with the red plastic line coming out to the fuel block on the firewall. Always loved the red lines.

 

The 4-71 is running a 35 top and 32 lower drive gear for a 8.6:1 under drive. The 94's feed about 400 CFM and the engine had the compression reduced to 7.5:1. Running a 5 speed with 373 gears in the rear. The whole thing makes for a comfortable highway run with the ability to cruise at 65-70 mph in 5th at 22-2400 rpm. When I need to pass 4th gear is right there. Haven't had it dyno'd yet because I'm still trying to sort out some of the inevitable little issues that come with any build.

You reduced the 235's cr to 7.5? I thought that was a pretty standard ratio for those engines through most of their life.

I have to gather a few more parts, and finish the floor work, and then I will put it in.

200-inch, 9.5:1 compression, final generation head (with a ton of port work), custom cam grind, no carburetor.

Not a hot rod but it's a good old original 65 Ranchero with a 3 spd column. I got another 200 I'm gonna hop up and fit with 3 Holley 1904 glass bowl carbs. I'm thinking of either sticking that in a falcon, fairlane, Ranchero or a sleeper model A.

 

I went with a little outfit that goes by the name: General Motors.

Truckee is close. I hope to see your pickup someday. Our Inliner club is doing our annual show the first Saturday in June in Minden. : "Rappin; to Minden" Come spend the day with us. Lots of nice inline engines.

 

1960 Falcon, backed up by a T56, followed closely behind by an 8.8. The transmission and rear end are already in the car. I have just a little more tidying up on the tunnel, and a few holes in the firewall to fill, and then it will go in.

I went with a "non-traditional" engine management (has spark control, too) system because my cruising range sometimes includes 10,000-feet of elevation change, will often include both 80-mph freeway jaunts, and long runs of bumper-to-bumper traffic.

This is my daily driver, so "set it and forget it" is the name-of-the-game.

 

I think when I was researching it, the compression for a 60 truck 235 was 8.25 or 8.5

Thanks for the info on the 235 cr. I never knew it went over 8:1. All stats I've ever seen say 7.5:1.

I'll be looking for you. Rick was a friend and we miss him. I spent a lot of time in Santa Cruz my self. Though I didn't live there.

I'm currently building a 1932 ford roadster with a XJ6 3.4 liter engine,a moss four speed
Manual tranny, out of a 1952 Jaguar MK VII. Engine runs great, and am finishing boxing
The frame and building the center crossmembers. I had to move the front cross member
Forward 2" to accommodate the long engine.
