I Found some time yesterday to work on the e job , started by setting up the new Currie rear and building a trailing arm setup out of parts offf of the old rear and I beam .

 

This is really nice,subscribed.

 

Saturday update........

It seems like now days Any and everyone is out here chopping the tops on cars and No one is really sectioning them anymore ,especially the big cars . So let’s start the weekend off right by sectioning the EJob . My wife and my brother helped out tremendously by dissemble the car while I ended up making the internal bracing like a giant jig. So that everything will stay in place side to side front to back but can move freely up and down . Right now the bracing site on 3 1” tall square tube so when the time comes to lower the top part of body down I can pull the tubes out at 1” increments at a time and everything stay true side to side front to back .so stay tuned

Everything is cut and dropped it place . I’m really happy with the Proportions of this car , now onto hrs of welding and grinding .

 

Pretty darn cool.

I see you did the doors the right way, and not cut them thru the middle. How much did you take out of the roof line to get it down? Nice job along fo the ride. Frank

Sorry it’s been awhile . I’ve had a new shop built, moved in , and today was the first day since September since I got a chance to work on the Buick

I wish I had of known this 30 years ago when I did the frame on my '57 PU. I had a disk brake Lincoln Mark 7 (?) 9" with a 5x5 bolt pattern. Well, a '77 up Impala wagon had the right bolt pattern and from outside of tire to outside of tire with 7' wheels was the same width as the stock '57 PU with skinny 16" tires. (A Camaro clip would have been a lot easier.) The steering box lined up perfectly with the column and the big block dropped right on the frame mounts when I swapped the block mounts off the SBC.
Of course when I got done I found out you need to add a little to the wheel base to center the front wheels in the opening. Re-did it. I haven't touched the truck in 25 years, but I figure as well as everything lined up and went together I've got a major screwing coming somewhere.
