It makes things a lot easier, how it will hold up years from now no-one knows. I would not use the other stuff again if I could help it. Also It doesn't help your memory when you flare it and forget the fitting.

I will never use anything else again... Unless it's on a Jeep I'm banging through the wood's/Rock's or a severe duty application... Brand I used was NiCop I believe

Someone on another board mentioned this brand the other day and I snooped into it and liked what I saw. https://cunifer.com/

    Bends and flares easy.
Few pics from weekend when I was working with it.
Flaring then a pic showing it looped as piggie tails -supposed to help with vibrations, twists etc and keep the ends always seated nice. Not sure if its true or not but I just used a socket and twisted it around it by hand.

Looks good, I am done buying parts house tubing and bending and flaring to get it to fit right. The stuff they have now sure doesn't like my tube benders while the stuff we got in the 80's did up real nice.

The only problem I've seen is people using to much force when flaring it and messing up the flare. Doesn't take nearly as much pressure to flare compared to steel line.

Buy a straightner if you get a coil.
There's an alliance vender who has nice kits and there's always amazon. Save you a few bucks and get fuel perks

I recently finished plumbing my RPU project.
I used it in all of my lines, brake, fuel everything.

I bought the eastwood flaring tool best tool I ever bought.

I did all of my bends using an imperial tubing bender.

I absolutely love the ni-cop tubing, I wouldn’t use anything else.

Lots of pictures on my build thread.

I used it to replace a rusty brake line on an off-topic daily driver recently. Had to do a few very tight bends and did them by hand. Didn't even use my tubing bender. I love the stuff.

One more thing, it’s not copper zinc, it’s copper, nickel and ferrous tubing, no zinc.

I got mine in a roll from the local brake and clutch shop and also used some pre made lines in different lengths for the fuel lines where it didn’t make sense to buy a whole roll of 5/16” or 3/8” tubing.

I bought my pre made straight pieces at Canadian Tire.

Napa sells the rolls of 3/16” etc, and also pre made lengths of pretty much any size or length.
Just search for or ask for ni cop.

It’s great stuff, I understand it’s been used on higher end European cars for decades. I have about 30,000 miles of use on my 40 with it with no problems and it still even looks nice. I won’t use anything else anymore.

Some of the labels from a few of the lines I bought for plumbing other than the 25’ roll of 3/16” for the brake lines.

My main fuel line is a pre made 3/8”x72” that I didn’t even have to cut the ends off.

Larry, can you clarify which tools you used. Your plumbing turned out great on your project, I need to update my flaring & bending tools. It'd be great addition to this thread for future lurkers who run across it in an internet search.

    Thanks!

Hence the name Cunifer, see periodic table if confused. Old Blue, I imagine Nicop must be Nickel/Copper alloy. I'd like to see a comparison between the two. I got one of those flaring tools from Pricess Auto Auto as a clearance item for $30.00 but it was for the HVAC crowd. So I use a combo of that tool and my old bubble flare dies to make it work. Excellent tool but I'd like to get the accessory attachment from Eastwood one day.

We call it cupronickel down under . Great stuff to use ,have used it on all our builds for the last 25 years. It makes you take a deep breath when you see the price ,but still worth it. The copper content does take on a little vertigreas look over time.
