Nice looking car but I really don't get the rear bumper on this at all. Looks super out of place IMO.

 

This is cool. It would have been a perfect precursor for Larry Watson's Caddy's. This, then the Brougham then his '59.

 

Well, then, how about the front?



No argument from me on the appropriatness of the bumpers (or lack thereof), but it is always nice to see someone take a different path. The car was once owned by John Gimelli, so that should explain a lot.

Other than that, this Merc has quite a pedigree, with work both by Barris and Rod Powell.

This one pussy-foots around on full Corvette 4-wheel independent suspension.

 

AHH didn't recognize it from the back not sure why that rear bumper didn't register with me before. I remember it more from when it was purple. I personally liked the purple colour better. I don't even mind the front bumper that much even though it's out of proportion big but the back one makes zero sense to me on the back of a 40's car. Thanks

 

Love this Chevy, I didn't realize it had Corvette running gear. The pictures reflections and the way the guy sits in the car reminds me of a Dave Bell drawing. Very Kool!
