That’s the Filthy Forty, probably one of the most famous/notorious Willys ever campaigned.

    Well damn....Déjà Vu!
I think we’ve talked before, but it’s been so long,I can’t remember. Is the car in your avatar the actual car,or did you build another one that looks just like the Filthy Forty?
    Either way,you’ve got some style,Sir.[emoji16]

I wish there was an “unlike” button for those ones,Phil....Hope everyone was ok?
That’s a pretty famous car up in this neck of the woods.
Is it still owned by Danny B?

Thanks Scott. Our car is a tribute car. The original Filthy Forty was barrel rolled at Maple Grove after Charlie sold it.

That would be Jr Thompson "and" Poole, one of Junior's many racing partners.

This would be Ray Kobels car after he sold it. I think the Wolkwitz (Sp) bros. bought it and is seen here. Then I heard it crashed, that was a long time ago.

LB there are quite a few people on here that remember the history of these cars and racers and hot rodder's. My goal would be to keep the memories alive even though these giants are long gone. Every day we lose another one, I'll be gone some day and would like for the MG and the stories of the people I knew to go on but it seems like only a dream of a not really old yet hot rodder. All of the friends in this 1st day out picture are gone. I miss them all.

Back about 1964 there was a nice 40 Willys coupe street rod that was at Dragway 42 . It was not a race car but was in the pits . Anybody know anything about it ? I believe it was candy apple red .
