Event Coverage Ready Set Yay-Hoo ROLL CALL

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by porknbeaner, Jul 10, 2018.

  1. Well its that time of year again, isn't it. The HAMB Drags are just around the corner and its time to talk shit and make plans to race.

Now please pay attention this is for you Yay-Hoo diehards and new comers alike.

In previous years I have dropped the ball and we are getting back to the roots of the race. Better say that again "The Roots of the Race"

The Yay-Hoo was originally a hot rodder's race, and we are headed back that way. IE no ringers this year. This is your race and we are interested in pure drivers being raced. No exotics just drive 'em in and race 'em.

We will allow a tire change at the track, but I am not sure how necessary that really is, if everyone recalls @flamedabone went 10 and change on street tires in his daily driver after driving well over 1000 miles to get to the track and then drove home.

Anyway here are the general rules:

Gotta drive your car to the event (at least 150 miles) ( this is on the honor system)
    • Gotta sign up to be a contender (before your first pass)
    • Gotta update the sign-up sheet with your ET info... have the slip handy, just in case
    • The quickest pass by a contender is deemed this year's Cup Champion
    • The champ gets their name added to The Cup (note I am dragging my feet on the cup but I'll catch up I promise).
    • The champ also gets a dash plaque to commemorate the victory.

Now there is no charge for the run for The Cup. Your track time is covered by your HAMB Drags entry. Meet the basic rules, sign up and drive it like you stole it.

The winner as usual will be photographed under the canopy at the host hotel @9:00 Saturday Night. I would like all contenders to join in maybe we can make a group photo.

Find us in the parking lot or the pits and lets go racin'

    Your turn fellas. Post away.

I'm just driving my F100 down this year - Parts/tire hauler/chase vehicle if needed.

For everyone else racing for the Yay-Hoo Cup, this is for you :)

  10. I got an idea that a fella on a skate board has a chance. I remember one year the car I thought was gonna win busted a crank and dropped out. ;)

Nope no other way to drive but like you stole it. The throttles on these old heaps have two positions, idle and kill.

Jho, have you had that thing at the track since last year? If you figure out how to launch that thing and be under power the whole time, it's gonna be nasty.

    See you there, -Abone.

Unfortunately I haven't had anymore track time. Im hoping to get a couple test passes in in a few weeks. I have some shocks being built and I'm going to get a little chassis tuning done before next month

  20. If you don't get the chassis tuned you could try and smoke 'em the full length of the strip. Be fun to watch and I may make a special smoker's award, counting your car there is the possibility of 2 cars with that capability this year. :D :D

I hope to get it going, like Jeff I would dearly like to see the blown FE make a legit pass. Its a beast my friend.

  21. Pardon my rant. Or not

Race week wears me out, even if I don't have anyone's car in my drive. Spending my morning fielding questions, TXT or TALK.

OK that really doesn't bother me I don't get out much. But we are back at the top just incase anyone missed us or wanted to say anything at all.o_Oo_Oo_O:eek::D
