Mickey and the 3-valve Indy push rod engine. It's not a "cammer", it's an honest to gosh push rod engine with two intake valves and a single exhaust valve. Trick cylinder heads designed by Rudy Moller, on a Chevy "type" aluminum block.



A little better photo of the engine. This is the yard behind M/T's shop in Long Beach, Mickey didn't like to throw things away (the young guy with the hair is me).

I think this was 1966 or '67, it seems like a lifetime ago. The purpose of building it as a push rod engine was that they were allowed more displacement than a 4-cam engine, if I recall...

 

George, were the headers bolted on the opposite sides in first picture ?
