A friend of mine built this truck a couple of years ago, sorry about the poor quality cell phone pictures. 327 automatic with dark green leather interior. Ron Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Sweet! This is the only other one I have seen who did the same matte gloss two tone as me. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I guess I should start a rebuild thread. I probably will if I ever get around to organizing my photos. Today the light was just right and I caught this shot with my phone. I love this little truck Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Great truck Lou and even better to let the vets know they matter !! US Army 1968-70 Artillery proudly served.
No more 40-41s?? Since November? Somebody is being shy! I gave up on Ryan actually taking the plunge or if he did; I missed it. Let's see some more or I'll have to digging through my old pics for more past treasures but I think I already shared most of them. Here's the 36 Fordy with a couple of his garage mates. I need to get a good profile shot since I revamped the stance the last time. Looks more cool but gave up some road clearance!! The cabriolet is the one I drove from VA to Pomona for the LARS in 2016---man that was a great trip!!
I have heard it said, " In this World There Are Two Kinds Of Men, Those Who Have '40 Pickups, And Those Who Want '40 Pickups". Meanwhile, I am building a front bumper for mine.
^^^Dang! My old pickups even get posted by other good men with excellent judgement and a good eye! It was a good pickup that was a hit everywhere I took it. I feel honored that someone else posted it. thanks
Ok, as a total rube but lover of these trucks, why do some have painted headlight rings and some are chrome? Did they come from the factory in both looks, or only one or the other? I like the ‘39 headlights on them too.
The 40/41 pickups all had painted headlight rings from the factory. It is a long time practice to put 1940 deluxe passenger headlight rings, which are chromed, on the trucks! A '40 standard passenger car had painted headlight rings. The '39 headlights have become so popular that they look as if they belong on a 40/41 ford pickup!
My son at the wheel in our old Chopped 40 truck with built 406 and the Beast in tow. Sunland Ca about 1980?
Kasselyn29 is doing what I've always wanted to try...only different. I'd love to put the 40, 3/4 ton front on a pickup truck.
I used to not like 'em but as my tastes change with maturity I'm really starting to love 'em. Love to do a very mild custom job on one. Reality is I'm too damn hard on my trucks, though. They don't tend to stay nice for long.
Here is some 40 sheet metal that is waiting for me to get the chassis and engine finished. I have the Austin Speed Shop doing the work for me and I am really happy with their work. They have an awesome metal man.
I bought this 41 six months ago and just took it for it's first run. Before: After a bit of Mart lovin': I know, it looks much the same, but believe me, it had it's issues. I started a thread with links to a couple of youtube videos of the first two runs: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...n-in-my-41-pickup-shes-a-fixer-upper.1101995/ Mart.
Hey guys, while you're all here... I planned on running 41 caps on my 41 pickup, but is there a sexier alternative? 41 caps look nice, just wondering what else might look even better. What do you guys think? Rich
