    Hi All,

I am working on a ‘32 wishbone for my project that has a slight bend in one leg. I have it straightened so that is is now within 1/8 inch of the other leg. Is this close enough?

    Before:

    After:

Not sure how close this needs to be for the front suspension.

    Thanks,

Plop it on the axle to find out if width is correct. We have straightened them cold before in a decent press.

Thanks, I had the axle bolts in when I took the measurements. Just wondering if the 1/8 inch difference will be an issue with the front suspension geometry. I think it will probably be okay but I wanted to double check with you folks.

I put mine between two trees and bent it into shape. As long as you can attach spring perches you will be okay

1/8 ' is fine and dandy.

  7. If you're concerned, mount it on the axle and cross measure from the king pin hole to the ball centre on both sides to compare.

After mounting mine, I found out it was bent, well really twisted, as well. The best solution for fixing mine was to cut it at the rear wishbone "yoke" and re-weld it. Afterwards, it was still out 1/8" ironically. As others have mentioned, that is fine and nothing to worry about.

Beats finding another one at the prices they are going for.

***emble the axle/spindles/tierod, perch pin the wishbone in, then float it beneath the frame. As you block up axle position - wheelbase measurement, then eyeball the wishbone center mount clamp w/the crossmember bolt holes. That would ensure alignment, if these line up.

Thanks for the input, I think I have it squared away. ***embled the suspension last night and bolted it up this morning.

    Thanks,
