Hoping to get it done enough to take to deuce days July 2019 in Victoria, BC.
There’s still a rather large list of things to do, but depending on weather I might get it out and around the block on it’s own power this year.

Looks like a real Hot Rod to me !
How about some more details and pictures Fry?

  6. Looks good to me, too! I like the photo treatment you used. Makes it almost appear to be a model.

    Thanks,
I don’t have any more pics right now, I built all of it with limited knowledge and tools, so it’s a little rough around the edges.
I built the frame with ASC rails, uses a triangulated 4 link, hidden coil overs, the front is pretty traditional 4” drop, 327, 4 speed, 9” rear. Lots of beef. Most everything is overbuilt.
    I’m shooting for a good daily/road tripper with a loose-ish pre 64 deadline.
Will see how it works out, it’s my first car to build and I’m still figuring it all out.

It started out as a bare shell, no sub rails, and some spare parts. I picked it up december of 2015, so it’s been just shy of 3 years. I’ve been doing this completely solo, as none of my buddies are into hot rods and I suck at seeking help (I’d rather do things the hard way...).
It might look like it, but I have no idea what I’m doing. Haha...

Yeah, kinda wanted a bit of protection and something to stiffen the body up. It’s actually kind of a mini cage sort of. The rear sub rails are tube and the seat frame is tubing, tying the whole floor, body and roll bar together. I didn’t make it to meet any specific rating or anything.

Cool, I’d been lookin a doing similar things with my A project. I snuck a few peeks of caged A’s at the hamb drags but everyone always does it different so I’m always happy to see more.

Is your rear sub frame square tube or round?

I had started making square tubing to fit all around the frame like a glove then thought that it was stupid since I needed a flat floor for the fuel cell anyway. I still ended up with a great deal of trunk space and no hump from the diff either.
    It’s also all overbuilt, 1.75 .120 dom.
    Here’s some “in progress” shots.

Killed it. Looks like you know whats going on quite well. Really like that little cage. Hope you never need it. But if you do, you'll be happy its there!

  30. Beautiful frame! Everything looks strong (over built as you said - I tend toward the same).
