Interesting with the Australian License plate above the Texas plate

 

I,ll bite. Looks like a photoshop . Vintage Aussie plates had the state letter abreviation, not the city. This is probably a 10 year old souvenier plate. Don,t think it,s an early diplomatic plate because then it would have the Kangaroo & the Emu together. ( national crest ) I,ts a gag. Any other Aussie,s willing to give their opinion. I,m willing to learn.

Rootie, yeah Pollard but the guy on the right wearing glasses I meant. He was the Indy flagman for years.

 

If you're referring to the man at the right that is starter Pat Vidan.

 

This appears to be Ronney Householder getting ready for a qualification attempt in one of the Joel Thorne cars in 1938. That's why all the AAA officials are around. Notice the pneumatic starter setup. The big guy in the white hat appears to be starter Seth Klein and you can make out Harry Hartz popping up behind Klein.

 

Any idea who is in the #57 midget ?
