The above Merc is a Gene Winfield piece, though and through!
He built (and painted) it from a fiberglass body he made himself, from molds he pulled off a steel Merc he had previously chopped!

Kustoms just don't look good, some time they have to go to work.

  19. Hey @Straycatcustoms, any word on the restoration of Dave Stuckeys ‘40?

It is on its way too Houston, not sure what the plan is but the owner said he is just making it a driver.

  23. Well well, looks pretty good, cool even, so it’s not exactly what Stuckey had in mind, but I think he’d approve.

Anyone know if any progress has been made on the resto of this car? I remember it being in really rough shape, a new owner brought it inside out of the weather but didn't do much beyond that and then someone else took over, I thought. Haven't heard any news lately though.

It's almost been a year since I have seen any info on it. This is the last I saw:

An interesting feature of this wild Ford was the mill. (Note the slicks.)
As I remember, it had a 392 Hemi, complete with 6-71 blower and eight (8) carbs!
(Pictures are out there, but I came up empty.)
