This is a great little car! Obviously a '26-'27 though they keep calling it a '22?

 

This one has been on and off Craigslist for the last couple years. I'd love to have it but I'm out of fun tickets and room!

I dropped in and saw Rod Hadfield on a recent trip to Australia. I personally like the ol guy and it is well worth the visit to his museum in Castlemaine Victoria.
Just a fraction of the stuff he has in there. Very clever man indeed,, cheers

 

The car is genuine but some of the facts were off here and there but the footage was cool and I still have a chuckle watching that fella driving it.

The owners did a great job in bringing it back. It would be interesting to see what it was like when she tracked it down.

She even called it a 22...maybe the ch***is is 22 the body otherwise. Sometimes what's on the registration is best not questioned it could open up a can of wigglies...

 

It's really cool that so many of these distant bits of cool stuff going on are visited by many. This is a prime example of that. I'll bet it was a great time...Thanks for sharing some additional work by this automotive artist @deadbeat...​

 

This reminds me of those cars cruising around at the big car and jalopy racing events. Probably just a Crosly sized homebuilt fun thing that obviously saw time on the road.
But definately a part of the evolution of jalopydum...

@Stogy. Castlemaine in Victoria is a really cool old town and is regarded as the Street Rod Capital of Australia. Rod is very quirky and his museum is a must see if you are ever down that way. Full of all his stuff that he has built over the years. Cheers

 

I see a Jim Street Kookie influence in that Nasty T...I watched that Video and he seemed quite pleasant and knows his stuff for sure. Quirky is good...as in no boredom guaranteed.

With motorcycles they say "Put a thrill between your legs"...with cars I guess its "Put a thrill under your ***"

I was worried someone would ask me that lol,, I honestly cant remember. I do know that the body was completely hand made though and drives as he has had it in some local Parade apparently. I will check my pics but they were taken off my phone so not very clear, cheers

 

Looks like a Rolls Royce Merlin like in the Lancs and so many other historical Wartime Aircraft in other words lotsa power...

I remember about 30+ years ago a younger Stogy was at a wreckers in Toronto and there was one of these sedans sitting on a shelf about shoulder height looking almost like a pedal car...never forget that day.

Iv never understood how you can call a car a hotrod when it can't even do a burnout without power braking it. With a big block? And the open exhaust iv never understood either. Maybe just me...not knocking anyone's car. But a hotrod should be a stick and be able to rip tire on command.

While I'm pretty sure my Roadster, even with its relatively small displacement, 3-spd stick, full length, no mufflers (open?) exhaust and no limited slip, should "be able to rip tire on command", I don't recall ever actually trying it.
Probably because I've never understood the point, especially after having seen many accidents and/or parts breaking during such (pointless?) activities.

Makes ya wonder...did the rightful owner show up after the fact. It could have been no money to release, wartime or even a parental pressure situation that sealed the deal for Harold.
