    I only report the spam
I let the mods do the rest
I thought this one would go the way of the s10 frame swap questions

  6. It was "The Jalopy Journal" Blog posting for Tuesday September 4th 2018 (by MODERATOR @Jive-Bomber ... aka Jay Ward) ... and this is the resultant H.A.M.B. thread for comments.

  7. @TTR & @anthony myrick -

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Do as I say, not as I do" ??? ... I think it applies here ... i.e., @Ryan & his moderators make the Rules & Guidelines for Conduct on the H.A.M.B. ... but they don't have to follow them.

If you don't like it, I suggest you either ignore commenting on this Blog/thread and spend some time reading an "on topic" thread that interests you ... or perhaps you guys could just pool your money together and start your own "Traditional Hot Rod & Custom" forum ... with your own rules ... $100K should get you started.

Bottom line ... You both post a lot of cool stuff on the H.A.M.B. ... I would hate to see either of you BANNED from the site.

  8. I do realize that, but if "the resultant thread for comments" hadn't appeared here on H.A.M.B., I (and perhaps others ?) wouldn't have felt mislead by the thread title, which prompted me to offer my initial and subsequent "comments" and we wouldn't be having this debate, right ?

life is a lot better knowing that term
and I can comment on any and everything until gone
as far as the mods......its their yard and their football and they do a pretty good job often thankless
but I could see where a new person could become confused and post items such as LS and CV stuff after this blog post
that being said I am thankful to be turned on to this video as I showed students today...they loved it
maybe a future Pikes racer is inspired

  10. Thank you for clarifying.
If the "staff" feels my commentary or questiong of their conduct warrants a BAN, it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Yeah sorry fellas... A little off topic... I've been on the road (family wedding) and didn't have time to edit it... Figured it would be better than nothing and a decent side bar. If ya don't like it, just move on... and know I'm working hard to get better.

Every vehicle racing against up Pikes Peak for time is a "HotRod". Just from different eras..

  14. Quick preview of that is way more in line with what I expected and definitely something I will enjoy watching in its entirety (later tonight, hopefully).
Thank you for taking the time. :)
World appears flat again and we can all move on.... :D

The original post is on the Jalopy Journal Home Page. This post we are responding on is just a link to it. Same as when the Boss/Owner of the Forum, Ryan posts about Porsche's etc.

  18. I had hoped to sign up to participate in this years "Virginia City H.C." , an actual timed event on closed road (organized by FOC, iirc) with my Roadster, but for some reason the event got cancelled. :(
I even did couple of (unauthorized/unofficial) practice runs last year on our way back from Yellowstone. ;)
My wife, while riding & screaming with her eyes closed as a passenger thru one of them, was (supposedly) filming it with her iPhone, but for some reason I still haven't seen or received the footage.

Ray's tribute car is very cool, just like all the new construction "steel" 32 Brookville tribute roadsters out there. Gary

So I just read all the replies after being away from TJJ today for my birthday--
First, geesh, sorry if the post was really that off topic. I thought a '36 inspired anything that beat a brand new Bentley SUV up Pikes Peak was pretty cool inspiration, if nothing else. My apologies!

Second, you try to come up with 104 unique articles to write about every year that are 100% Traditional Hot Rod and/or Custom-related, and have not already been covered by someone else already- It ain't easy folks... And I think I have a pretty decent track record of keeping things on topic, so maybe give me a hall pass once in a while.

No hall pass needed from me..... I took it as inspiration. And to me most of the editorials you and the team do are just that. Thanks for all you do....

12 1/2 miles, 156 turns and climbing to 4,700'. From sweating to freezing cold. It takes balls and skill to even finish as the smallest error of judgement could lead to serious injury or death. A fantastic ride and on my bucket list like Bonneville!:D

No apology needed Jive Bomber. I would not have known about Ray's race car if you had not told us.

  26. A totally fabricated '36 Chevy is no more OT than a '32 Ford built entirely from after market parts. Or how about a '55 Ford that has been recustomized three times in the last 60 years and is now considered by most to be very ugly by today's standards.

    Aren't we all rodders?

Thanks for showing us an article about a guy with great passion who built a car he wanted to race when he was a young guy.
