History This is a “help me find my family members Car” post

I’m trying to find or gather information about my grandfathers 1937 Chevy called “The Dandy Lion” he raced back it in the day, it had a 426 hemi and a mural on the back that was of a lion with exhaust headers and a top hat, it ran in Martin Michigan at US 131, here are the pictures

it's still around. I see it every year at the NSRA Nat's North in Kalamazoo.

Still painted in the fade. I don't think there is a name on it anymore.

Why would a car, named "Dandy Lion", have a tiger painted on it????? Just random curiosity, I suppose.

 

Picture looks like a lion to me.

 

What an awesome coupe and the fact that someone recognized the car is great. The hamb never ceases to amaze me.

If Memory serves right that car showed up in race coverage photos in Hot Rod or National
Dragster a lot back in that time period. It helps when you are searching for a well known car from a time frame.

 

Pretty sure remember him talking about somthing like that

do all you guys need damn glasses????Man post a photo of a 1937 Chev cpe and you come back with a picture of Stone.Woods and Cook Willys coupe which is a 1941..

 

That blue Willys is the start of a youtube clip. After 30 seconds you see the correct car. btw neat old video.

 

The lion on the trunk looks like Svengoolie on Chicago T.V. Nice car I hope you find it.

 

...some of those glasses that you mention could help a guy with reading the post.

Super cool that it's still around!
Now you can buy it and change the tail lights back.

 

Good Luck. I found my 62 Corvette that I restored (to hot rod) after 33 years it did my heart good. Really cool car. I hope my grandson will want to see my old cars some day.
