I don't think it did. It was just restored by Marco Garcia at Lucky 7 a couple of years ago for Richard'but don't know what happened to it after he passed away. It was at the 2016 GNRS.

Edit: It was actually restored for Richards nephew so I assume he still has it.

Who had more fun with Mercs than Joe "the Fonz" Carloni?
I love the story he told of turning off the ignition to load up the flame throwers while street racing, and in doing so, locking the steering wheel on his newly installed tilt-steering column!
(Not to worry, though...a telephone pole quickly brought him to a safe stop. )

 

The Fonz is one of the guys I would have loved to have met before he left us to go to kustom heaven.
I remember reading a magazine article about the Fonz to my late friend Teddy over the phone. The story had us both in stitches we were laughing so hard. I've looked through my magazines for quite sometime and I've never been able to find that article again.
Sometimes I think everyone has gotten so serious about cars that people don't have fun with them anymore. Work isn't supposed to be fun, but cars are..........E

Joe reportedly took a '41 Chevy rear window, laid it on the back window of his already chopped Merc, and filled it in with body filler. (Not something I'd do personally, but why throw stones? This guy had his own kind of fun.)

 

Think about the influence this guy had on the Kustom scene. He built his car in his freaking driveway, outside, in the snow! He was "just do it" long before Nike was. I sit on my hands a lot of times because I have to have everything perfect, so it doesn't get done. Remember when this car stuff was about having fun?

I am still having fun with his car. Where ever I go all I here is " Hey is that the Fonze's Car ? " Yes it is and the stories start. Everyone has a Fonze story. The car will never be made perfect. Safety upgrades and general maintenance only. That way it is still his car.
