Anyone ever been to the Dayton, Ohio museum? It's worth a stop if you have a full day.

… This is a Switch I bought with the understanding it was for WWll Aviation Military. I have seen it elsewhere as a Magneto Switch but can’t recall where.
Is there anyone that can confirm it as a WWll era push-pull Magneto Switch? Thanks, Ric

I bought this years ago to use on my 47 Harley Knucklehead as an on-off button, I was told at the time it was an old magneto on-off switch. IMG_2661.JPG IMG_2662.JPG IMG_2663.JPG

Young, aspiring metal workers, machinists and fabricators can do themselves a lot of good by getting copies of old Navy and Air Force manuals like these. They cover a wide, wide variety of skills. Electrical, too. Gary

My neighbor had a large hand in restoring That's All Brother (lead D-day invasion C-47) so I was able to get a private tour before she was finished. I work a block from EAA so for 10 days every summer we have a constant air show.

Denton Texas Airport was flown by my good friend Lee Griffin a member of the Confederate Air Force. Sure was noisey in flight. Had 4 Studebaker built engines with Maytage Turbochargers. One of the best rides on my bucket list. IMG_1720.JPG IMG_1722.JPG IMG_1721.JPG

  15. At 44 years old, I have never been in an airplane, and am terrified of heights, and will not ever fly in a modern airplane, BUT would jump at the chance for a B-17 ride! Those WW2 airplanes are super cool and the men who flew them in combat absolutely rock! Truly the Greatest Generation!

Many pilots are afraid of heights. I am afraid of them also, I have over 5k hours in the B52 as a Gunner. I am also a pilot, don't deny one of the greatest thrills by not flying.

  17. Then jump to get over your fear of height. Exhilarating, exciting, adrenalin pumping, otherwise indescribable. Free fall over static line is the best! HALO!

I received a care package from the widow of an 8th Squadron Korean War vet. These were painted by Dotty Sturla and were displayed at the Reunions over the years. Thanks so much Dotty Urey for your gift. I will be getting in contact with the 8th Special Ops Squadron to see if they would hang them in the Officer's and NCO's clubs. I passed this weather vane in Georgia on a bicycle ride up from Key West FL to Canada.

  25. Back in the 1980s we had a neighbor who built pipe organs and owned a Stagger-wing Beech, which he flew from his grass airstrip alongside his home. That rotary engine was powerful and loud. We loved it every time he took off.
