Do you suppose if someone were to stop by and ask about the Cad.,Merc., or the Plymouth 4 dr he would say, "nah, I'm gonna fix it up someday";)
Good find and looks as if he has some more good finds also.

  5. try shoeboxford.com--mercuryland helped me out ALOT with my 50= just got a set of doglegs and inner rockers from them, sometimes they'll have donor cars Macs antique auto may have somthing

My neighbor had a 51 Merc more door outside his house buried in the dirt too. Wouldn't sell it either. He passed away and the car disappeared.

All I can say is: "WOW!" The story alone is worth whatever you paid for that car. I believe that someone/something wanted you to have it.

Just thought I'd let you know. Terry Hegman lives in Fountain Valley, CA and is a metal magician. He is also from U.P. Michigan originally. Great metalsmith. He still talks kinda funny, but is so talented.

  23. The OP said he wasn't in a hurry to get to this car, but after reading four pages, and 6ish years later, a

    little update woulda been nice.

Many years ago already, the tax man came calling and I had to sell something to cover a big tax bill, the Merc went a couple days before the taxes were due. A fairly local guy has it and apparently has done a ton of work to it but I haven't seen it since.

Man I've heard I'm gonna fix it up or I'm gonna restore it about cars that have been sitting where they can be seen from the road so many times I think next time I hear it, I'll just shoot the bastard and buy it from his widow.
