Hey everyone, I’m a new member but not new to the knowledge I have acquired from here; I have recently purchased a gem of a 51 mercury; been sitting in a barn for years; washed it; cut polished it and mind you a lil patina she’s beauty; splash of gas a fresh battery; she purs like a kitten; was a beautiful find ; and I’m very happy I have now a car I have always wanted, I’ll keep u posted on updates!

Nice Merc, There is a lesson there with that car. That is genuine "patina" Softly worn and buffed like the seat on a fine old saddle that has had great care. A little bit of age and wear showing but no sign of neglect.

Nice looking car, looks like it's cleaning up real nice. There's something very satisfying about a careful polish job on a car like this.

Since it started up and runs good,it must not have been sitting very long---unless someone was caring for it as it sat

Beautiful British Columbia! That is a rare find with very minimal rust here

It sat for around 12 13 years or so and from my story I got it was purchased, gone through drivin snd parked again for the years before my purchase there was many things replaced from what it looks like the exhaust was new the brakes tires and a floor shifter was installed although I’ll be putting back to Column shift

Well the story goes I was in market for a cruiser. I was in works with a guy I. Building s monarch but then my buddy visiting from Australia knew a fellow with many nice cars in a few barns, and I looked at a few and really liked that one for it’s originality, there was chopped ones and olive red ones but I
Love how nice this car was there is not a dent in this car all doors work so good numbers are great few issues but nothing major! I got a great price on car and now just making it mine!
