I was thinking they were newer S-Ns, but I forgot that the S-N slid on pillars like a Morgan or early Lancia, but with transverse springs. The Sizaire brothers left S-N in 1912. Their next car, the Sizaire-Berwick, was a large conventional car with a solid front axle. Their final car, the Sizaire Frères, was a light car whose transverse front spring formed the lower link in the IFS. Oddly, in 1921, all three Sizaire firms were producing cars.

  2. Kume, what a great video! At 14.42 something comes off the little orange and purple checkerboard car. Can't tell if it was a taillight, or maybe a camera, it came from the left rear of the car, above the gas tank.

These cars are Antony prototypes wich run in several races of the thirties like bol d'or or hill climbs. There are much news about nergamotte one of them here
http://tricyclecaristes.forumr.net/t1527-dans-la-famille-antony-je-voudrais-bergamotte[url/] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] There are several engine mount like jap or one or two rarest twin cylinder harrissard like this The name of the team was les souris bleus Antony is the restaurateur of the old Fiat F1 in the thirties wich he exhumed from a pond.

    Thanks for posting that.
Here is a different angle of the same three Antony racers from a different Tricaristes page:
    upload_2018-10-23_5-29-21.jpeg

This is a clearer view of the Antony IFS:

The split front axle was something more commonly seen in postwar British trials cars.

The story about Harold brings back some memories as I grew up in Adelaide and know a lot of the people mentioned in the history as well as having met Clisby himself.

    Hello,
As I could see from more photos, it was always raced "naked" - bodyless!
    A few are shown here:
    upload_2018-10-28_0-0-45.jpeg

    upload_2018-10-28_0-1-8.jpeg
Later Harold Clisby designed serious racing cars, but also small specials in a class of 125 ccs (built for other racers):

Just as a curiosity - home property where Harold spent childhood (garden railway!):

    Ciao,

Som most part of BERGAMOTTE mistery is solved now!

We know designer/constructor (not much is written about Antony) but more could be seen about his unorthodox racing cyclecars, with a lot of technical details.

Left one has underslung chassis with leaf springs over it and one in the middle and one at the right have independent front suspension with transverse leaf spring over it!

    upload_2018-10-28_0-17-31.jpeg

    upload_2018-10-28_0-17-55.jpeg

Model with underslung chassis has rear spring over chassis, too - which was quite a rare solution!

    upload_2018-10-28_0-19-28.jpeg

Visible is sprocket at the rear axle, without differential - chain transmission.

    upload_2018-10-28_0-21-18.jpeg

It has quite serious front brakes with interesting and precise commends, but couldn't be sure for the rear brakes - I couldn't see them? There are drums, but empty. Maybe there was small drum beside sprocket, with outside belt/band as an active brake? That is for the model with underslung chassis and solid axles front and rear.

The Primotipo link that Bob posted mentioned that Clisby planned to body it, but I couldn't find any pictures of it beyond the early ones you show. I was hoping someone, maybe from down under, might know more.
The regs for the 500cc club in Britain (at roughly the same time) include the phrase "bodywork optional but desirable".

    Hello, Rolf!
I was always amused by Slaby-Beringer cyclecar, both in electric and benzin powered version, either single-seaters or two-seaters...
(my favourites, two extremes of automobiles: small cars and giants, the best if aero-engined!)

Such six-wheeler is a small mystery for me: never could be seen clearly is it automobile with six wheels or regular SB with a passenger trailer? Looks to me as a trailer, but quite close coupled to a car...

The Corbin was interesting, but rather underdeveloped. The dimples on the back of the front fender were part of a patented airflow management system. But if you braked hard while going down a steep hill, you might end up on your nose. It didn't look like the weight distribution would be that bad, but it was. They focused on the wrong development goals.
The wider Mathis body looks better too.

I got to see Jerry Sherman's collection once, there was a Ruby or Rugby cycle car that was very nice looking, I think that was lost in the barn fire also along with piles of Hispano parts. Very sad automobile loss. Bob
