Two springs ago I spoke with Walt Rhoades who drove the dual hemi version of The Freight Train. He also said that the two 392 Hemis were his engines. I asked him why they put his hemis in the car and he said, "We were doing OK, but we suddenly were being passed by the hemi powered cars. I had two hemis, so we put them in."

  2. Wonder if they still have teddybear biscuits. I must have eaten a million :D.

Rootie, do you have any details on the first attached photo. It's a great shot but I'm not recognizing anything. Thanks.

The second shot is one of (I believe) Tommy Hinnershitz in 1941 in the Marks Offy. I've talked to oldtimer's about Joe and Grandma Marks and the general belief was that their little family grocery in northern Indiana must have been a front for some of the Chicago gangs going back to the 1920s bootlegging days.

I don't know any more about the shot of the the 8 car. I recall reading, at some time, something about the Marks having some nefarious connections/funding also.

Rootie, I believe the picture of Johnny Thomson is in victory lane at Syracuse 1958. I say that because of the tire combination. He wouldn't have run that rt front at Duquoin, Springfield or Sacramento. Am I close???

Does anyone remember the pic of Alfred Hitchcock talking to Janet Leigh sitting in the 55 Ford on the set of "Psycho" ? I can't seem to find it.

I hope that cop wasn't too hard on The Beaver. Larry probably talked Beaver into taking it to the street. This must have been an early episode before Chrysler starting providing the cars
