  4. Not too many years ago a '52 turned up in a you-pick yard here. Could have bought the whole motor for $150.

The valve covers will bring $50-$100 no problem depending how nice they are, the rest, you have to find the guy who really wants an Olds 303. I would say $500 tops for the works.

I really want to email him and offer 7k. Just to get him to poop his pants some. And then find out the phone # isn't one of a buyer.

Short answer - Nope. Someone's been hittin' the crack pipe.
The OP is su****iously quiet, you don't suppose he bought it do you? If he did, I have a nice set of std. bore blower pistons for a 303 I'd like to sell.....

The 2 coupling hydra-matic from 1956 -1963 the single coupling from 1940-56 was the one that made B&M famious.

Sorry guys I'm the OP and I just got home from work so I havn't been on the net today. Just one other thing about the add on CL, I have been watching it now for about 3 months. I just thought the add sounded rather smug.
No I did not buy the motor as someone thought. No I have no intention of buying the motor. I was just trying to figure out what this guy thought was so special about his motor. I am looking for a 318 preferably a poly for my next build.

After 3 months, maybe the CL guy is beginning to get the idea?

Make it run, it's already on a stand. Anything over 500 bucks, I would want to hear it. That line of turning down an offer is the oldest one in the book. Just like selling a car, telling he has someone else coming over in 30 minutes to look at it. Puts pressure on the buyer, on the spot.

1940-51 hydros are only worth what they weigh for s****. 52-56 hydros from big motors like Olds,Cad Lincoln Hudson Hairnet and 1 ton & and up trucks are the only ones worth using.

Way too much but if he can find a buyer all the power to him. My neighbour has a 303 in his '33 ford. He said they were tough to find around here when he built the car in early '60's. Car stilled parked, since '67
