started out a Chevy shell LOL. But in all seriousness let's just post pictures of appropriate tri five Gasser pics as the title says and cut the BS. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Dude, lighten up a little. After reading the 1st post on this thread, the Pontiac fits. Let's see some pics of that blower motor in progress you have going on.
I was just joking LOL I don't take any of this serious anymore.hahahaha wink.I guess I need to put "sarcasm"... by the way love love love your car I'm glad you finally got it done I know it was labor of love and life gets in the way but you knocked that thing out of the park chevy57dude. Drool. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
By the way, if anyone wants to start a tri5 stock car thread I’d be okay with that. [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
57Dude, you know I love your car. But I always wonder what it would look like with some giant meats like these in the back. Not your style? What size tires do you have on there now?
Love 56 Customline hardtops.. Just not with modern , fake spindle mounts. What are these guys thinking?
Man, I like that white 57 sedan with 5 spikes! Anybody out there know what the specs are that one,? Maybe an interior pic or two. [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Im not a fan of the "fake spokes" on some cars, but Probably the same thing I think all the time. I can't afford real magnesium spindle mounts. Or vintage magnesium anyting. Any thing "real" vintage skinny or wide wheels or any cool "real" vintage speed parts because people hoard them. Just saying. They were made to be on a car not in a museum, collection, on a shelf or an investment... LOL. But Can't we just be happy if a car has fake spindle mounts and not drag Star wheels? confused. I know, I was being half funny. As much as I have seen pics of the outside I wouldn’t mind seeing more of the car. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
First of all, you don't want spindle mount anything on a Gasser...real or fake. Front brakes were required on gassers in 99% of the years and classes. If you look at the Altered thread here on the HAMB, you will see plenty of spindle mounts...12 spoke and no brakes. Front brakes were not required on Altered, again in 99% of the cases. That being said, there are plenty of vintage looking wheels that are available for no more money than those "things". A good guide would be the Southeast Gassers rulebook..... https://southeastgassers.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Sega-2018-A-Gas-Rules.pdf, page 18 here. It shows what's allowed and what's not. They want their cars to look like they would have no later than 1967. I would think that anyone building a "gasser" would want it to be period correct.. Unless , of course, all they really want is the latest incarnation of the Street Freak. (i.e. Facebook Gassers)
The biggest problem that I have with the fake spokes is just because people bolt them on the car people think it's automatically a gasser. Other than that, I don't mind them. More pics and one of Doug's 57. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Thank you! The rear wheels are magnesium 15x10s with Radir 10.00x15 slicks and the fronts are 15x6 International Dragmasters with Firestone 7.75x15s. The next size larger slicks would be 12.00x15. It didn't seem like the larger size would fit. However, these will be worn out one day, and maybe...
Thank you! Please let me point out it's an Altered, so not actually a candidate for this thread. The front axle is 3'' forward from the stock spindle location, and the rear is an inch forward from stock. Specs: 454 poked and stroked to 490ci, aluminum Dart heads, Erson solid roller cam, Dyers 8-71 blower with a pair of boost referenced 900 cfm double pumpers, Centerforce 12'' clutch, M22 trans, 9'' rear with a nodular center section, Detroit locker with 4.11s. interior pics soon.
