Is anyone familiar with a company called Blackies Rods in Ohio? My 5 Window body supposedly came from this shop. Was wondering if there was anything positive or negative I could find out about these bodies. ( I know it’s not steel so that’s a negative. Lol ). Didn’t know if maybe they were a dealer for a particular brand?? I can’t seem to find any info other than an old post where a member was installing wood and had mentioned the name. Thank You.

  2. Well, if you bought one and you have it weather it's a project or a finished car you must have looked it over pretty good. Seems to me it was good enough for you and that should be all that matters. So I'll ask you; What do you think about it?

I have nothing to go by...There are no real or reproduction cars in my area and to be honest other than a 61 Corvette I have never owned a fibergl*** car..I am sure that some bodies are way better than others.. Unfortunately I did not inspect it personally before I purchased it (Totally my fault) And have had to rebuild or repair nearly everything else So just figured the body was sub-standard also.. Thanks

we had a guy called treads, he had some molds, made bodies then sold the same project to a few guys,
went bankrupt, disappeared, guess those lobstermen found him, they don't like being cheated !

  9. Eric,
I have to confess..... I tried to buy your car as soon as I saw it online. I had been obsessed with buying an AG coupe clone for several years. I'm sorry for your trouble with it. It really looked like a fine car in pictures until I called the guy and he made me uncomfortable. I didn't feel confident that he was being totally honest about the car's history and/or condition.

When I was looking at it I was under the impression it was a New Age Motorsports fibergl*** body. Most fans of that car agree it is an outstanding body for a reproduction.

If you can, I would post pictures of the drip rails and body lines around the doors. You could also contact N.A.M. and they would probably tell you if it was their body. Here's a few pictures of N.A.M. clones from my archive. (Not my cars) 1932-ford-american-graffiti-coupe-clone-1.jpeg 32ford77136-4.jpeg 32ford77136-8.jpeg

Thanks all for the info. I nearly have all the problems worked out. It needs painted which is next on the list. Yes both people I spoke with about the car were liars. One was very good at it. The other played the “I don’t know much about cars. But I am a AG nut. “ to avoid answering questions. Life goes on.
