Supposed to by 2 1/2". I won't know til I get the wheels back on and that won't happen until I get the rear brakes unstuck...lol Sent from my LG-H872 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Dayuum that's cool...is it my eyes or did someone lean mod that steering wheel. That will make a very unique hauler...getting the groceries will never be the same again... Congratulations @livertucky

Here's how she looks sitting on the ground again. I don't have a starting height because the old leafspring was busted but looks lower than others I've seen online. Sent from my LG-H872 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Got the brakes unlocked and rolled her out for a bath the other day. Sagging on the passenger side so need to look at the shocks. Sent from my LG-H872 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
It just has the one rear leafspring but I'm thinking the lever arm shocks all need fresh juice as they've been sitting for so long. Hopefully I don't need to rebuild/replace them.
I was thinking more like the front spring, or maybe it has a crossmember issue. The shocks themselves, should not be holding it up, unless they are too tight. Cool truck, has anyone called it a hearse yet?
The sag on the right front is most likely due to either a broken spring leaf or a cracked/broken crossmember, both common problems on Fords of that vintage.
OK. I have a set of springs for the front. I'll see if that fixes it. Haha no one has yet. Maybe thats the route I take her Sent from my LG-H872 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks. I'm going to replace the front springs and see if that helps. Crossmember looks OK. Sent from my LG-H872 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Nice find, and it is great to see the progress. Did the trucks switch to hydraulic brakes in 1939, just like the cars? Back in the 50s and 60s, the only 39 Ford truck I can recall seeing, was my uncle's 39. It was the first truck I remember riding in back in 1949. Bob
Yes j-jock, '39 was the first year for hydraulic brakes in the trucks as well that's what made me look up the serial number before getting the bill of sale. He had it titled as a '38 so now we have to got through the process of re-titling the truck. That's OK though because I'm sure it will take me longer to get her on the road again. hahaha
