  2. I’m guessing some badge engineering in this cars past.

Always thought the nomad nomenclature meant 2 door wagon.

Still a cool wagon and probably worth what he’s asking if it’s as clean and complete as he says.

  3. It's legit, as Chevrolet used the Nomad name several times after the initial '55-57 use. But it was merely a trim package on the standard wagons. Rare doesn't mean desirable....

Not all Nomads were 2 doors, after 1957 Chevy started making 4 door Nomads.

    My wifes grandmother had a '60 4 door Nomad.HRP

the Nomad name lost it's luster in 1958. I've seen them before. probably a little more trim and a fancy interior....

They should have renamed them Doormads. Tri-five Nomads were so much more than a trim package. Iconic, dare I say perfect, styling never to be bettered in a wagon. Just MHO.

The guy might want to reword his ad as nomads were made from 1955 on, 4 doors in 58 on if I recall correctly.

Anybody in New England that goes to the big Springtime "Early Ford V8 swapmeet" in Fitchburg, M***, has seen a twin to that 58 wagon. It was maybe 5-6 years ago. It was in the swap on a trailer, ex-Texas survivor condition, loaded with options, I think it was a 348 too? ..and I had never known that 58 Chevys with posi, had that same chromed emblem on the glovebox door that says "Positraction". Look in the Ebay link pics and you can see it.

There used to be a lot of them floating around as it was just a trim package starting with 58. At that price I'd say he will be sitting on it for a while unless he finds that guy who has been hunting for just that model for a while.

It's basically the Impala trim level on a wagon from 58-61, just as the 55-57 cars were basically a Belair 2 door hardtop version of a station wagon. The Chevelle based ones were a super stripper version, basically a Chevelle 300 version of the Concourse wagon.

The seller is wrong about it being the only year of 4 door Nomad wagons. First year, but not only.

Still, any late 50's station wagon is valuable now, and a '58 Chevy is a good one. I think it's a little overpriced, but not ridiculous, it could find a buyer if the guy is negotiable. This would be a great car to add 2 door hardtop doors to, like a Mercury Commuter wagon.

Still a desirable wagon. Not 55-57 desirable but still a pretty rare desirable wagon. What's it worth? No idea.

I have never understood trying to sell anything like that without a little cleanup. That car needs a few hours with a pressure washer before even attempting to look at it!

There's no model production breakdown for 58 wagons but they weren't exactly rare with about 187,000 total built. If it were optioned with fuel injection then I would say it would be rare and desirable.
