Hello found this on the internet thought it looked cool and period correct wanted to share it ...It's going to be sold at Barrett Jackson January 12-20 I like when people build and sell things like this it makes all the rest of the period correct cars worth more..
Nice truck. Don't know bout the rest of you but I don't want them to be worth more cause then I can't afford them!
Nice looking truck. Can't say I'm a fan of the Vogues or the exhaust that dumps out underneath the bed without tail pipes, but those are minor things. Engine detailing and interior are both very pretty.
I think there's a little too much cheese on it. I don't care for the JC Whitney Caddy lights. Over done way way over done.... The wheel and tire combo are period to last week. I don't know why; maybe it's the blacked out grille or the low profile yellow/white walls, but for some reason this truck does not not hit the mark. At least for me. I think it's a little confused or it confuses me.
UMC , how much do you think you’re truck is going to bring ? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I like the truck a lot..but.. but not really period correct. It has a mix of decades going on there. I try to tell some locals that the more years we are on earth, we sometimes get a mix of stuff happening on a build without knowing it. Period correct for a F100, likely has chromed steelies, bias WW, much lighter & brighter color, chromed grille of some custom type or make, quilted/roll & pleated bed cover, and belly burner pipes at the bed tops. I'm not saying anything negative about this truck except.... after seeing under it...sadly it seems like it was never driven/enjoyed since built. >>>But it might have been built to showcase a rod shop's quality level.. .
I'sh,,, I'm thinking 1970 something. Let's just throw a bunch of Stuff at it. Don't clean up any of that Factory wiring stuff, we'll just put a contrasting color behind it so it stands out real good. I'm a real fan of these first gen F-100's, just not this one. It could probably be fixed. The Wizzard
Exactly. I like 56 Ford PU's. But someone put a lot of time & money with zero direction. Good news, after the buyers & sellers take their % commissions, maybe it'll turn so many people off, it is stolen at no reserve & someone can get a bunch of this **** off & save it with a plan & sense of direction. . . .
I like it partially just because its a big back gl*** 56 ford and partially just because I like it, but those old (black)wire basket Knockoff rims and cheesy bullit center caps are a cop out to me, They look like a top shelf buyer wanted to buy something quick and cheap to cater to someone else with half a clue just sell the truck. Id take it tho...sort of puts me in mind of the tobacco king 64 ford galaxie for some reason. ...also would rather have a black spray bomb job under the hood than that white, show casing all the wires etc as someone else mentioned
It's a bit of a stretch to call this build "period correct". The wheel choice and the cliché pseudo Caddy taillights really harsh the vibe. There are better choices out there. Engine compartment appears extremely busy, mainly because of the color choice. Other than those issues, it is a nice looking ride. I really love early F-100's and this just needs a little love and some dollars to make it just right. Of course, my taste has been questioned for decades...
The period of this Truck is "Total Confusion". Maybe they thought the Painted Grill went well with the painted wheels. What the Painted 56 Grill on this truck really says is, I'm Cheep!, I'm Cheep!, I'm Cheep! right up there with no rear bumper of any kind. I will say I'd love to start with it to end up with what I feel would be a outstanding example of 1960 Kool Truck. I really like that the Y-Block and O.D. is still under the hood. I'd like to be the guy with a NOS Left Rear fender for the new owner. The photo studio guy needs to hire a lighting guy. Bob
I picked up on that also. Thought they were using the dark flooring to hide the ride height. The Wizzard
What's with wrapping the exhaust with DEI on stock exhaust with lots of room. Oh yeah, might not be all shiney stainless like the mufflers. One thing at BJ it will be sold...at Me*** I'd bet it would not meet the owners "high" expectations.
