63-65 Riviera pix?

Matt ::: beautiful Riviera !! Are your road wheels rechromed and then the centers left unpainted ? That looks killer !
What size and make on the tires ?
Inspiration for the long cold Minnesota winter ahead ! I gotta get my 65 on the road this year ::::::

Thanks! Original chrome on the wheels, I just stripped the paint with chemical stripper. Tires are Cooper Trendsetter 215/75R15.

Here are the two I got in November. Both 1965 with one on the left being a Gran Sport. The other one has a 401 engine but has been upgraded to two fours. The Gran Sport had not run in at least 8 years.

I've since got the GS running and then pulled the engine to put into my 1932 Ford all steel cabriolet.
Here's the GS 425 before being pulled.

 

I'll bring this one back from the dead... Here is my 65.

This is the same car that appears on the right in my earlier post. Ready to go to paint place. We used hood off the Gran Sport as had not been damaged in an accident like the original hood for this car. We thought we had it ready but once it got into the sun... y'all know how it goes! The good news is we think we found all the flaws... the rest will show up after it is painted!!

I saw this car on Craiglist in the last 12 months. Somewhere in Indiana I think.

 

Same car as in earlier post but now with good looking front bumper attached.

Later that day I started cleaning the wheels.

 

The Rivieras looked great from day one but the boxy p***enger compartment roof always seemed a little off to me. I did this photoshop; chopped the top a couple of inches, leaned the "B" pillars forward and cleaned up a few other details including that big bumper. I'd love to have a real one like this.

 

So Nice !!!

 

This one was at the Ventura Nationals last weekend. One of my top 3 cars at the show. These things just make me weak in the knees.

Where did you get the wheels? How's the quality?

 

I love these cars and regret selling this one. Lets see if we can get this thread going again...

 

In my humble opinion, probably the best all around design GM ever came up with. Yes, the Corvette was sleek and well styled in this era, but only good for two people. You could cruise the Riv with the family in comfort and look good doin it. It really needs no improvement from a style perspective.
