    In the process of erecting this santa claus and putting the Chevy in his hands a crane operator was killed when he fell from the hook. This was a Chevrolet dealership located at approximately 5512 Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, Texas.

    Interesting that they colorized that picture. I wonder what the real interior color of James Dean’s ‘55 210 Delray was. The choices were black/ivory, blue/ivory and green/ivory. It was a six as well.

    The pipe fittings on the PCV adapter are a nice touch.....I wonder what the 2X4 induction on the cabinet in the background is all about ???? The carb height looks taller than the setup on the engine ....

    It wasn't his car. It was a rental he used while filming Giant. You will have to ask Hertz about the car

    The great Johnny Riley , a true hero [ in my eyes as a kid]
    Johnny was an ex WW2 pilot who started racing Stock cars in the early years at Epsom Showgrounds [Car #29]

    He eventually represented NZ by joining a team to race in Australia in 1958 [Car #2]

    In the early 60's he went road racing in our national formula with a Lotus Climax [Car #17]

    In the late 60's to early 70's Johnny racing a Shelby Mustang GTA "Trans Am" car to considerable success [Car #222]

    Johnny's son Brett was a very good racer as well. Winning national formula Pacifics [Atlantics]
    and driving "Works" BMW and eventually Racing a March F1 in the 1977 season

    When I was 16 I had a chance to buy a 36 Damn near this car. Paint was just a shade off, built 8BA. $400 !!!!!!!!!! Pops said no.
