The Hurricane of 1938. Peterborough,N.H.suffered not only from the winds and floods, townspeople spent the night of horror fighting fires on the east side of the bushiness district from the Contoocook River to Depot St. Among the buildings burned to the ground was the office of the Peterborough Transcript. The whole mess is said to have been started by spontaneous combustion in the grain bins of the Farmer's Grain Co. Although the terrific winds carried embers to the other parts of town, the town was saved because the buildings were water-soaked by the heavy rains

Just guessing but this car has some serious damage, and it appears to be located about 10 feet from what looks like the mainline (dual set of rails) railroad tracks. What do ya think?
