What are 315 Dodge Hemi engines worth?

Everyone wants to find a Hemi! Well, I found two, but they're 315 Dodge, both with adjustable rocker gear, and the bump-out valve covers (not rusted, but a few good dents)

One turns over by hand, the other is stuck.

    What are they worth?

I have a couple ploy motors, love them. Not the cheapest to rebuild, or the best performers, but they look cool. I like em. As far as what they are worth, the basic 2 barrel enginess are worth a couple hundred if they are complete in my book. The red ram engines are worth more. Car engines. It really just depends on condition. I have 3 55-57 poly motors.

I guess I should ask if yours are poly motors?

Have you seen the adjustable rockers, or just assume they are under those covers?

They are Hemi engines, out of big trucks. They've still got the big manual transmissions on them.
And yeah, I assumed they were adjustable rockers under the dimpled valve covers... I didn't pull one to look.

W/O adjustable rockers you should get about $800 each for a truck package. IMO.

The classifieds here, @ Hot Heads, EBay, swapmeets & sometimes Craigslist are places to look.

    Wow! What a find!

  13. The red ram is a little harder to hot rod, but speed parts are becomming available these days. It seems that from what I remember it was usually stationary engines and marine engines that had solid lifters, but one may assume that a big truck would have them as well. At least the dimple covers makes one think they might.

The free one may be worth a grand or so, you may get it home and find that it had compression and is usable, if they could garentee that it would run it would be worth a couple of grand. The stuck one is a core and you have to consider that the block may be beyond repair, so I would guess in the 800-1000 range. Both are cores but the free on is a better core.

I should asay one other thing, this is what I would expect to pay for them.

Yeppers... Never hurts to ask. I still have a lot of stuff I couldn't sell from 2012. If the guy still has the transmissions, or the engines, or spare parts for that matter, hopefully we can work something out.

If you are not a Ford guy or a Chevrolet guy, you have to dig deep in hopes to find something out there you need.
