Looking for opinions on the "look" of the grill in the car, I have access to a nice grill and bumper but don't want to waste his time and mine. Not sure of the measurements of the grill and bumper compared to the front of the Ford. Any help would be appreciated . BigO grill2.jpg

It makes it look like a miniature 46 buick to me. Its not that I don't like it its neat but it almost like the 2 cars are too similar. Its like it belongs too well too me.

I saw the ***le of this thread and thought no way, but that is actually pretty cool. My only issue would be messing with a nice, running driving hot rod. Hate to take it off the road to do the grille and bodywork. Then, you might need to paint it, and it snowballs from there.

    Nice car.

I like it, but once you do it you’ll have to figure out what to do with the rest of the car. Be a shame to get the front looking good and ignore the rear...

I've been thinking about different fenders on the rear like 48-49 Chevy to get rid of the odd meeting point of the body, fender and trunk other than just molding everything together like everybody does, plus lowering and skirts (Yes Skirts , I like'em).

47 Ford one of the best looking stock bodied cars around, with some minor changes - but, your ride - do what you please 20181216_094008.jpg

I am with the last two I don't like it at all and I am a custom guy. I always think, when I see those Buick grill on cars other than Buicks, that it looks like somebody with their mouth hanging open with a dumb look on their face. Bubba Gump style.

I look at it like it gives it a heavy look on the front end to go with the low stance.

IMO that is exactly what you don't want in a custom. Should flow from front to back not have a giant lump on the front.

Thanks , it seemed like a new and different look for a car that seems over looked in the custom world, that's why I'm looking for opinions.

I am not a custom guy at all...find many to way over the top. You have a functional hot rod right now but I really like the Buick grille in there if you can do it like your pictures. I would leave the rear fenders alone.

Pretty good foresight on your part.

You'll change your mind if you have to have that Buick front end rechromed. There might be less than one in a hundred custom '48's that I like.

This is the first time I've asked for opinions since I started building cars in the '70's. Thanks for the insight.

There might be a reason for that, and I'm beginning to see why. Thanks .
