    The "car phones" back the were all basically field telephones (i.e. radios) adapted to car use.

  5. The ones you saw on show cars were nearly all fake, as the costs for actually having one were high. Plus you needed a FCC license...

    Would be cool to have a old rotatory dial telephone in your car and have it wired into a cell phone transmitter device.....cool...and I do have a valid FCC license... really I do...

    I remember back in the 80's right after the car was restored, and Larry was at the Toledo ,Ohio Auto Rama , to see his old car, he told me he boxed the whole interior and sent it on a greyhound bus, and had Gaylord do his interior, when he had his car built.
