I've been watching this event from the outside for a few years and this year was invited to attend. With the roadster still needing some time and money and issues slowing the work down, I thought it would be another year watching it all on the internet. After many messages and phone calls leading up, Adam asked if I would like to co-pilot in his '32 roadster for a big weekend. Well, you know what the answer was so here is what I saw from the inside.....

So many great photos already, hopefully the following can also celebrate what is, year in, year out, one of my favourite events.
Note: Normally I try to only post photo's that celebrate the cars, but, think that in this case that would be an injustice, not because my photo's necessarily show the people in the best light, but, more in recognition to the fact that this event brings a lot of great people together for the weekend, and to that, thank all who make that happen, especially Bails who always goes above and beyond. Thanks.

Typically on the Friday night, after the formal get together, we have an informal drive through the city, and stop for a burger in town and celebrate the moment, this is one of my favourite parts of hot rodding, driving in the cool of night, typically after a crazy hot summers day, with friend, with no real agenda, just embracing the opportunity, love it.

Our annual Friday meet & greet to welcome interstate and regional country entrants this year was held for the first time at Shannons Insurance Auction Showrooms,created a nice vibe with over 30 of our run Hotrods parked in with up coming auction vehicles of all kinds

Now, just wish to celebrate a couple of friends, who despite the physical punishment, drove the 10 hours down, through terrible heat, and bumps and bruises that come with long distance hauls, and despite what was genuinely a long weekend, were still smiling like school kids, with a bug eating grin, at the closing miles of the trip, top stuff, love it.

This year we asked Ryan if we could use H.A.M.B./Jalopy Journal images in some way to pay homage from where we were born,in his kindness he asked what he could do for us and promptly mailed out stickers for our Entrant bags.Coby Gewertz is responsible for our Start/Finish banner artwork along with T-Shirts,Hop Up contributor Chris Cooper is one of our invited photographers and through Chris we touched base with the Hop Up crew and asked if they could support in some way too.With thanks we combined all three to give all our entrants something extra
