Mounted the fuel cell, floor supports, and the steering dampener. And now we’re finishing the welding on the frame and getting it closer too paint. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
How old did you say you were , kid? Nice weld beads AND fabrication. Keep up the good work. I check in everytime you post new stuff! 6sally6
I just turned 16 last week. My dad does most of the welding and fabricating with me so that’s why it looks so good. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Don’t let the kid fool you. He has welded quite a bit of it. A lot of his welds look better than mine. We both have some ugly ones. He is a very talented intelligent kid. Not much he can’t do. I am proud of him. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Impressive work, and time frame. I hope to hang out at the track and see you guys race this year! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I like it, more Ranchero Gassers the better IMO. Since it has a fairly short rear panhard bar length you're probably going run into some amount of side loading/binding pull toward the driver side during rear suspension travel. If the side loading pull distance isn't too bad then it's probably nothing to worry about. If you feel it's a little on the excessive side you can preload it toward the passenger side (a little) at ride height to offset some of the pull distance toward the driver side during rear suspension travel. The good thing is if you did decide you need to use a longer panhard bar length in the future (to reduce the side loading/binding as much as possible) you look to have plenty of room for a longer bar the way you designed the chassis.

Looks nice. Question, can you get away without having down bars to the rear, or you welding them in after the body is on?
We have to weld them in when we set the body down. We will have a little touch up paint to do. I have a lot of respect for body shops. Painting the cage was awful. I am to fat and my arms are too short [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Sprayed the door and window jams the body color so that we can do the headliner and get the body put on the frame. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Maybe it's an optical illusion but it kinda looks like the brake line might either be resting on the panhard bar mount/bracket, or might end up resting on the panhard bar's rod-end or the rod-end's jam nut. If either is the case you might think about moving the brake line up a little just to keep the tech inspectors happy. Some inspectors get kinda cranky when it comes to brake lines and fuel lines that are run close to suspension components.
Put the body on the frame, installed the headliner, and welded on the rear bars for the cage. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I sorta like the paint scheme the way it is now!!! Purple trim around with primer gray...very old skool cool! No kidd'in! 6sally6
