I forget what these were called in the day. There was more than one body style/version. I think the moderator Moriarity (sic) has one. Cool.

There’s some fantastic old photos in this thread. I’m really diggin the old, grainy photos BUT... Where’s the dislike button for this crap? The whole ‘gasser’ thing jumped the shark several years ago, and these pics confirm that.
Had this 56 for awhile and it was a C gasser "No Brag Just Facts". Sold it to a friend that moved it to Port Huron and raced it. Then lost track. Steel tilt front end, straight axle from an Econoline..4 speed, Carter comp dual quads, Mallory ignition, rajah wires, fenderwell headers, towbar, ...old time fun.
This first 55 Hardtop, I'm trying to come up with an "appropriate" name/description for it. Tuner/Gasser; Donk/Gasser; and that's all I've got. Who would build such a "creation", and try to pass it off as anything short of GARBAGE? Swap out the Wheels/tires, and maybe it would garner some true attention; as it sits, it's just garbage, and a complete waste of someones time, effort, money, and vision. Now, I've got to head to the eyewash station. That car is just so wrong, on so many levels, in any part of the world. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
