Thanks GM. I was not aware of that and would like to find the article. I know Ken has the car now and restored it several years ago. Like most, it's likely far better that it ever was!

Couldn't locate that magazine but here is a picture of Ken Austin's recreation T. Somehow it looks too refined and I prefer the first one. This is from the 46th Portland Roadster Show coverage from Street Rodder magazine. Scan-190218-0001.jpg

Last update on this for a while. I have another project coming soon so this one is going into hibernation. Still need to box the frame and add a bunch of pieces to tie the front crossmember in, but went ahead and cut it off the table to make it a roller.

  5. Had the 21TT chassis blasted and epoxy primed last month. I painted it with a brush using Tekaloid. Now building it up and the 27 tub is off to be blasted and epoxy primed next week. IMG_20190217_190534938.jpeg IMG_20190120_140826473.jpeg

Wow, a lot of detail I had no idea of. I really need to get that article. Thanks again for clarifying the history of the original and current car.

  10. That looks GREAT!! Have you left enough room between the door and steering wheel for your fingers? I know mine is fairly tight. JW

I made a little progress on mine, the front tires is what was just laying around, they're a bit tall. 001.JPG 002.JPG 003.JPG

If you raise the rear of the body, so that the fender lines are above the tires with a rake it will really look mean!

And where we care currently. Only posting pikkys from back of car incase engine offends anyone - but at least its a V8 Ford like Henry intended 20180915_122518.jpg

Heres a 26 I've been slowly tinkering with. Im going for the early gow job look. Ive got some early Houk wire wheels that I'm restoring for it. I reversed the spring eyes but eventually I want to lower it more. Also thinking about putting the side aprons back on. The windshield will also get chopped. Im trying to keep it a running driving car as long as possible while doing everything on a shoestring budget. 20190331_112222.jpeg

They are new ones from Macs. These are the US made ones. Three were good, one need just a wipe to true up. I don't think the offshore ones are as consistent. I probably could have gotten away with fourth but I like my brakes to be pretty smooth. All the internals came from Macs as well except the stainless lined wheel cylinders from Speedway and the E brake setup from Lokar, (my only concession to the street roddy stuff). I considered using the new ones with the Buick style fins but thought these are more in line with the "look" I'm after. These pics were taken a bit ago. It's actually quite a bit more along at this point. If I get time this Sunday I'm going to fab the side panels for the hood. I need to get them at least roughed in so I can roll the belly pan in .032 aluminum.
