Old gauges, hummm, some really cool looking dash's in here ! For me actully starting in the 50s I used what I could find for free in junked cars, took them home. My fav. was out of Studebakers. Some things don't change a lot. I've hooked up a good number of new for other buddys, but my own rod gets leftovers from the parts box. At one point had SW oil an water, but oil failed,so just pulled a working leftover out of parts box. Maybe some day I'll find another SW oil. For now they work,I don't do a lot of gauges. I always kept my own simple, oil, water an speed=1928 speed-O dose work, but bottoms out at about 75.
Goodness gracious. I'm pretty sure that triple gauge pod is worth more than my blower! '57 F-code T-bird?
Yes , too often the line to the sender is junk. I was lucky and found a good SW gauge for my latest coupe- 25 bucks at a swap. ATTACH=full]4236504[/ATTACH] Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
‘33 Chrysler for my A coupe. Got it at Jalopyrama two years ago. At Williamson’s getting Ron’s treatment.
I bought a $5 electronic donor tach to provide the guts for my oldie S.W. 2 piece tach with the back section removed. Works great!
Recently I have been trying to off these vintage gauges. A real military oil pressure gauge. Electric. Don't know about the sender. But it followed me home from Ft. Lewis in 62.And a rare vintage boost gauge. Says CIE on it. Looks like it could use some calibration. Anybody who can use either of these, feel free to make an offer. I don't expect to retire on them.
Will this work in the long therm? Asking becouse it is not magnetic only centrifugal. Am i right that in this type of tachometer direction is not importand becouse of the weight action inside ( which is the same no matter from left or right rotation direction) Is it already mounted and used? ...just curious
Bought these 35 Buick gauges @ Carlisle ….. … and after having them refurbished installed them in my 32 5-window …. Pretty tight fit - they just made it in there!
The Harley cop speedo from that era looked almost identical to that one. Good looking dash my friend.
