History 1933 - 1936 Willys, picture thread

I really like the looks of the '34 hood louvers. I'd like to find a '34 flip front.

 

Flyer, the first time I saw those side panels(real 34) was on John Carlson's yellow sedan delivery and since my Willys was a 1934 (it came with a 36 nose) and I had a 33 front end I searched until I found a set of 34 side panels. I traded the 33 panels for the 34's. I really like that style.

So do I. Those louvers really flow with the lines of the body contours in an 'art deco' kind of way.

 

MY FAVORITE TOO...but the '36 side panels are begining to grow on me since the completion of my '36

 

But the '34 louvers fit the flow so well...G-willys

 

Here's my attempt at a headlite system for my '36...I used Bob Drake reflectors in a '36 headlite bucket...had to open up the back to fit the bulb in...and then sealed it with a rubber bellows from an old mustang ll lower A arm. Light comes through original '36 headlite glass...they are very bright, but I have not tested them in total darkness to see what kind of beam they throw. I also fit amber turn signals in the horn covers...g-willys g-Willys

 

Forgot to include...had good horn covers over the amber signals, but siliconed the horn covers on, as the little tabs were quite weak...G-willys

I remember watching a Jackson Brothers video of the BC car crashing on its inaugural test runs. Did it get rebuilt or is the photo above from a previous life? The damage from the crash was extensive, maybe terminal?

My friend Vinnie Antignanno and his brother owned this car. It ran a 421 Pontiac motor. At one time in the early to mid 70's I had the glass nose off that car. Vinnie is still around and has a 33 Willys street rod.

Is this car the old Bones, Dubach & Pisano .??

 

No it's not. The Souza Bros from Hawaii (not Souza Bros and dad from CA) bought the Bones, Dubach & Pisano coupe directly from Gary Dubach and still own it to this day. The front end still has the Isky Cams on the hood and "Chizler Too" painted on the front grille section. It was featured in a issue of Gasser Wars Magazine.

 

Oddy's

 

This coupe at the time was owned and raced by John Faust. Jim Oddy is on the car because he built the big block and is friends with John. I'm not sure if John still owns it or has sold it. It has a candy brandywine over lace killer paint job on it
