Still waiting on the rebuilt motor, but bolted up the bling to a spare block to check it out and to work on the carb linkage. Also a shot of it out and about.
Hey, Great looking build! for what its worth, the new parts being made for burns includes throttle levers and all sorts of linkage parts for these too. Get in touch with them they have more than what is on the site. https://burnsracingequipment.com/
Fixing some of the ugly from prior owners. Put the battery under floor where it belongs. I took the floor mat out when I did it. I think I like the bare wood floor better....
Really like your build. I'm not very knowledgeable about 4 cylinder cars. Is your motor with all that bling going to fit under the hood? It looks kinda tall.
Added a repop luggage rack spreader bar and decided to try the bumperless look. It was pouring outside so no decent photo.
sorry been negligent on this post. Mainly a lot of small stuff. Replace Generator(doesn't charge and wrong one), halfway through a new wiring harness. got delayed because I decided to switch out head lights(more on that later). Need to blow out the vent tube in the gas tank so the gauge will work. Also looking at using my dual temp/gas gauge. need to get the rumble seat set up. have to replace a bent upright that was drilled like 6 times. Need to pull the front axle and send it to Kohler Brothers for a mild drop. Then the biggest chore. Getting the new banger motor and installing it. Fortunately I have a couple guys who know what they are doing to help me with that. Goal is to get it to Jalopyrama in Easton. wish me luck.
Bought a set of original Arrow headlights for the car. Stripped them and now they are luxuriating in the 911 rust dissolve while I drink bourbon and wait...... Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Also picked out a color for the new motor. 1930's Chevy Grey. Thought it would be a good twist on dropping a chevy in it.
Sorry it has been so slow. Looks like the new motor will be done this month....maybe... Still leaning towards the Simmons power head over the Brierley. I am positive the Brierley is a better head, but not the look for this car. It next motor will be a "Modern banger with FSI, Brierley and maybe a weber carb, in a roadster of some sort. (a fella can dream).... always liked the Model T turtle deck cars. Have my generator out for rebuild, but in the meantime installed a power Gen. Very happy with it. What have I done since posting... moved the battery to the stock location, rewired the car. STILL having issues with the fuel gauge. Added a vented cap but it still blows all the fluid out the top of the gauge the first time I fill it up. The restorer crowd says it is a clogged vent in the gas pickup. Need to rune the gas out of it to pull the tank. Oh, gonna put the Bumpers back on too. Last remaining item is a dropped front axle. Been thinking of picking one up so that I can get it dropped then put it in at the same time I pull the other one. I am VERY adverse to a car on blocks. I like to drive it. Adding the dropped axle when I put the new motor in seems like the ticket. Now if I can get an OD transmission....LOL
Haven't posted in quite a while, been over on the garage journal. Inherited a lot with a garage and no house in Massachusetts. Work is on hold on car till I redo the garage.
