My gosh! I was cooking Chili Verde and paused, as you answered my P.M. about the bed length...then you directed me to the build.
Just finished all 10 pages.
Kelly, please hang in there. Your faith and humility are admirable.
And, YES, I am kicking myself for selling my '33 pickup! It was to be like yours, (final with fenders) as I was inspired by an older guy in the '50s.
Yeah...I go way back.
Thanks for the wonderful journey of 'repair/restoration, as I am now re-inspired, and can get to some bullet holes in my 'T' Touring. (uh, welding 'em, NOT puttin' 'em in!)

 

Bit of a thread bump, but I love how your work turned out.
First time I've ever preferred the fendered version but hey ho its not mine
Did you document the floor work or is it still on the to-do list?

I cut a piece of plywood and hold it down with 4 machine screws.
Once that was in, I never thought about again.
I'm still driving the wheels off it very chance I get.

 

This is still one of my top favorite hot rod pickups.

I found your build by seeing your comments on others'. It got me curious about what you were putting together. I'm glad I checked it out. You've had a bit of a hard road and it's been cool to see how you've pushed through. Very cool truck! I like so much how you preserved and repaired the sheetmetal. Also that you just brushed paint onto the repairs rather than jumping off the cliff into major bodywork and paint. Shiny is cool, but driving is cooler, if you have to choose between the two. I hope you are really enjoying the truck and it would be cool to see more pictures as you use and drive it.

Hi all, been a while since I have posted here.
As life has it, I had to sell the truck in fall of 2019.
It went to a fellow I'd known for quite a while, he drove it a bit,
but mostly just sat in his garage. He contacted me last fall offering me first chance to buy
it back. But as things go when you are dealing with cancer and heart issues, you don't have a surplus of cash.
It got sold to a fellow North of here in Red Deer. He reached out to me to say it was as it was when I sold it.
Then told me of changes he was going to do, and I had to just let it go and not think of it as my truck anymore.
I have seen a few pictures of it at shows, and I have to say, I can't really argue about the changes that I can see.
It has aluminum heads, and a duel carb setup. He swapped the front dirt track tires for Deluxe Champions.
I always thought the dirt trackers were more of a Highboy tire anyways.
So yeah, It's onto a new owner and that's ok.
It was my mental therapy when I was first diagnosed and fighting cancer.
I have great memories of building and driving it.
The first trip I did out to British Columbia was the most epic thing I've ever done.
I am now slowly building a "55 Chevy shortbox, 350, T5, 3:42 posi.
Nothing too special, just an old truck I hope to be driving someday.
