    Chicago, State St. near Congress. I went to the Follies for a couple laughs with a pal when we were about 16, around 1965. Too young you say? It was all about your money, if it was green that’s all that mattered, and I guess it was $2 or so. There were some old bags on stage stripping to a really bad three piece combo, a washed up comedian and some old guy hawking a book on the “White Slavery Racket”.
    Today the area has been gentrified and looks completely different, loads of condos and townhomes, nice restaurants and parks. Today they call the area the South Loop, it’s part of the high rent district.
