The Hawkins and Walls 55 belongs to a friend of mine. He has owned it since he was 16 he is in his 50s now.
Hard to see in this photo, but half of the 55 is white, the other half is black. And, the photo was taken at Van Isle Drag Way, the only "real" 1/4 mile drag strip on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, now long gone. There are supposed to be plans in the works for a Vancouver Island Motor Sports Park. I am Butch/56sedandelivdery.
"Burdine and Phillips" I will have to check and see if the Burdine half of the team is related to Ric who runs a blown BBF Mustang with the NDRL. Roo
Working from my phone and got the image confused with one of a 55 from Oz that is almost the same color--I need to stick to the 40" monitor at the shop. Roo
The photos are from Edgewater (Cincinnati area) and there is an Indianapolis business logo on the rear quarter panel so I am thinking that it is from around my part of the world. Roo
I guess not, went through a few hands from the different workmanship, one guy said he bought it out of Long Island, one guy was from Jersey and it came here from Pa. Little 177 blower on a small block, automatic reverse manual valve body, 9 inch and a 10 point cage with a cert. on it, so at one point it was pretty quick.
