Exhibit A for you guys that don't consider 55 Chevys a "hot rod".
That's a hot rod if I've ever seen one!

  2. Maybe so, but not in the spirit of this site.

Actually, in my opinion, since 55 had the first V-8 for Chevrolet, that makes it the first "hot rod " for Chevrolet as well.

    Yep!
Just ask the guy that drove his 54 Chevy to the dealer to look at the new 55's.

I've owned four '55 Delrays since '63, this is my current one. Purchased from the original owner in '14. Pulled the I6 and Powerglide and installed a '57 283 with a 097 Duntov, Richmond 5-speed and 3.08 rear gears. Disc front brakes on 2" dropped spindles and 3" drop Global West 5-leaf rear springs. Reliable driver and 18 mpg on the freeway. SAM_0348.jpg

    Another '55 Delray.

It's in the classifieds. I have an OT project which I am darn determined to finish.

Alfin32 you got the coolest 55 man. Clean, simple, and tasteful. Period correct too!!

All these ‘socalcarculture’ 55’s suck. Delete all of em. Not a single one is true to the 50’s/60’s. Like the one that has ‘C/Gas’ on the door with Centerlines on it, or that red, cowl hood street outlaws thing....wtf man. We need some QC here. badly.

it was a faded chocolate milk brown with a cream top,...was originally an A&W Root Beer salesman's car

Thanks man, I'm trying to decide if I want to put a '59 Corvette steering wheel on it, and whether it should be Tan, or White? But I really love the patina on this wheel. The car was an original 36k mile 265 / PG when I started, and is mint, original underneath.

  15. I had an early vette wheel in my 55 convertible, they have less dish so it worked out great for my short legs. I just drilled and tapped the hub to mount the turn signal “ actuator”. The bell on the vette wheel is a little larger diameter then the 55 column it it wasn’t all that noticeable. I think tan would look best.
