  4. Looks like a great movie. I'm just not seeing Carroll Shelby in Matt Damon.

Same here. I may have missed it but his accent seems in the trailer appears to be standard Matt Damon. Not a deal breaker for me. I'll just have to try harder to get into the spirit of it

I don't care if JACK plays Shelby, I want to see and hear the Cobras screaming

  7. Just be thankful it wasn't Matthew McConaughey. Those Lincoln commercials are bad enough to empty your stomach.

Is that what he's trying to sell? Thanks, I thought it was a pool cue commercial.

  10. Batman likes Ferrari. It's hard to get around every movie you get the Bale face.

  11. My wife and I haven’t been to a movie since Gran Torino. We are definitely going to see this at the theater! Too bad we gotta wait until November.

As a kid, I would cheer for Ken Miles as he navigated the turns of Riverside. Fast forward 45 years. One of Kens mechanics Steele Therklesen was in my shop. We were reminiscing about the glory days of Riverside when Steele told me about that horrible day Ken lost his life. Steele was there, and it was one of those days that was hard to recall the details of what had happened. Haven't been to a movie in some time myself, but will be going to see this one

Saw on the web last night Edsel Ford HATES the movie. Something about Henry Ford breaking down in tears about something I forget what. Edsel says that didn't happen.

'Go Like Hell' by A. J. Baime is a great read, should hold you over until the movie comes out. Let us PRAY Hollywood didn't fuck-up a great story... that it holds true to the book!

If the trailer is anything like the movie will be, I'll pass. They've made a NASCAR movie (rubbin' is racin') with sports cars. All it needs is a love triangle. The historical inaccuracies in the two-minute trailer were bad enough, I can't imagine 90 minutes of it.

I’m incredibly excited about this, I hope it’s as good as I want it to be.

As for Hollywood, don’t forget that this is entertainment, not an educational documentary. Movies don’t get made if they don’t get asses in seats.

When we go to the racetrack I bring a movie projector so we can watch car movies outside. This is definitely being played next summer!

I guess that I will put up with the overblown CGI crashes as it looks like they got a bunch of real cars together for the movie and they will be worth watching. As for great racing movies I recently got around to watching "Rush" and although it is a little post HAMB era I would highly recommend it. I knew Niki Lauda (RIP) and Daniel Bruhl who plays him really nailed it.

So while ol Shel did become part of the mix, there was way more to that battle than him. One of the architects of what finally did it was at Amelia Island with us this year. Miles was robbed of his hard earned LeMans victory with the corporate "1-2-3" finish, as the FIA decided the other 2 cars traveled further to the finish line based on Mile's finishing position. Company politics are often short sighted. If I recall Miles died testing a 'J' variant of the iconic GT 40. I just wonder how much overall detail will be included. Shelby was an important and successful gear in that machine but he surely wasn't solely "the one" that made it happen.

d076_1.jpg We all have our favorite eras of cars and things, and at 68 all I ever knew about Ken Miles was that he built an MG Special "The Shingle" that was on the cover of Road & Track. I just read this, https://www.cobracountry.com/ken-miles-appreciation/ hope you do too before watching the movie. Bob

  25. I looked up the cast last night, it includes many key players of GT40 program. What caught my attention was the fact Phil Remington is included in the movie, he is played by Ray McKinnon.
