LAFD, Engine 3. It's almost not correct to call this an "Engine", as it has no pump. It's actually a "Hose Wagon", and it's a one of a kind built for the LAFD by Seagrave Fire Apparatus in 1938 or 1939. The "Water Monitor" on the top was designed for a fireboat, and was able to punch holes through brick walls.

In 1974, working with the LAFD, I wrote a book about the unique LAFD fire apparatus, (FIRE APPARATUS, A PICTORIAL HISTORY OF THE LOS ANGELES FIRE DEPARTMENT) and it was published. I selected a photo of "Engine 3" for the cover. In 1974 this book sold for about $5.00 new in book stores (it's an 8 by 10 coffee table book, with about 112 pages, one photo per page). It's been out of print for many years (I still have a very few unsold new copies in my closet). I see these books (used) for sale on Amazon, for $95...
