I drive my cars day & night but with all the new cars and trucks with the ultra bright lights I could literately read a book when one of thees cars or trucks are behind me.

I have thought about finding some type of later model rear view mirror for my Deuce sedan that has the daylight/night flip switch but everything I have seen is way too big and looks out of place.

I have searched for the old Fulton style clip on rear view mirror cover, or something similar much like a pair of sungl***es.

Is there a company that still makes anything similar. HRP

It's the higher SUV ***'s with extra brights that bug me from behind my 28 roadster.
I sometimes need to through my mirror out of adjustment temp, tell Mr *** is off my tail. It's the ones that put those super brights in,but failed to adjust them<too high=looks same as having high beams on. Some times if they are coming at me,I blink my high beams at them/ most are far too stupid to know why they got a high beam blink.

Those modern lights are so bright they hurt my eyes and I have a hard time seeing the road. I hate them.

Have you looked at this mirror ?

    https://www.est1946.com/so-calinteriormirror.aspx

This thirties-style interior mirror, designed with a slight tint, enhances day/night driving. Its ideal for a number of applications because there are a variety of brackets available. Call for information on bracket style.

Thank you for pointing that out Pete and the thread did help me find a day/night mirror for the wagon and although you think the subject has been adequately covered to your satisfaction I am still looking for the aforementioned style for my Deuce, I do apologize for bringing the subject back up and would appreciate any helpful input you may care to share. I'm surprised no one is reproducing them for the restorers and the traditional guys like us that drive our cars when the sun goes down, I guess all the street rodders use some from a later model car but I just can't put something like that in my Deuce. HRP

    Hhahahaha^
The new led/xenon illuminated cars are crazy. I drove my 40 Ford back home last night and a new BMW was behind me. I swear he had his hi beams on and I could see the shade of my car in front of me with me sitting inside. These new cars have self dimming headlights and I guess my taillights are just too dark to be recognized by the BMW dimming computer thingy as " car ahead- dim headlights".
I´ll try the beer can trick next time, hahahahahaaa

Wonder if you could modify one of the clip on ones for a sun visor maybe?

Some nights my eyes are light sensitive and one day at the discount store I spied a pair of those yellow clip on lenses, so I decided to give them a try. They work, they increase the contrast and clarity and dim the brighter lights just enough to make it bearable.

Try pulling your choke out all the way, maybe the smoke will make them back off.

Then again, I see people tailgating trucks with obviously poorly secured loads, so maybe they will still follow too close.

The Vdub thing is cool, $55 might compel me to make a copy with some dark plexi gl***.
Biker I knew carried steel ball bearings in his pocket for tailgaters.

My 02 P***at has a pull up shade that lays across the back shelf that hooks on two tabs above the window. So out of sight when it is down that I just found it this week after having the car for six months.

A lot of the 30's cars had a pull down shade for the back window, that would surely help but you sure couldn't see behind you. HRP

Can you cut a piece of colored plexi and make a couple clips? Might be pretty easy
