Thank you for reviving this old thread, I didn't know it existed. I must be weird, cause I love these cars/trucks! Just about anything Studebaker gets my vote. Super cool! I have pics somewhere on my desktop I'll contribute to the thread when I locate them.

Love the color and body work,I think new headlights are not proportional to design=too big.!! Same style but smaller could work if blended,as making fenders more aero dose look nice in todays world. The rim/tire pick on it ,looks like crap to me,knowing that skinny low side wall tire run with little to no flex=too stiff hard ride, plus do not flex enough to keep tire tread on road in any turn, lifing most of treat up in a turn{this type of tire must have new style sub designed for them}not 1950s or even 60,70s design, will not work safely with low side walls. Tire stores only want to sell that shit,an though that know no better think it looks good. NOT on any older car .

This is my 1949 Studebaker Commander.
I wanted to build an early '60's era gasser, and thought that this would make a pretty cool and different platform.

Here's the '39 Coupe Express that I finished building a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, it was totaled when rear-ended by a kid in a 4wd truck at 50mph as I sat waiting for oncoming traffic to pass so I could turn into my driveway. I decided not buy it back from the insurance company; it would be no fun to build it the second time around.

I got a couple, or so the first one I have had for several years, it's down now getting some new updates and go fast goodies. Then I just bought these other 3 a couple of weeks ago, I got the 4dr Champion running really good but the clutch is stuck. The yellow 55 was someone's old hot rod it's got some modifications including fiberglass hood ,battery location in the trunk, dash redone with extra gauges and a positration rear end. The 2dr.51 Comander is all there except engine and trans its actually not a bad car ,good project and it's for sale ..the 4dr. Champion is going to be used for some parts for my 50 Champion Starlight coupe build that I have going on, I'm just going to swap out parts that are better condition for parts on the coupe then do something with the 4dr....maybe a cop car replica? Anyways Studes Up. IMG_20171130_225400.jpeg IMG_20171130_225311.jpeg 20190517_191422.jpeg 20190518_201046(0).jpeg 20190523_205120(0).jpeg

Not mine, belongs to a local guy, I see it frequently at local rod runs. I believe it's a 32 Stude coupster, running a blown Buick nailhead. Love this car!

Again, not mine, belongs to another local guy, and I see it frequently at local runs. I'm not wild about the yellow paint, but it still has those great Studebaker lines.

Seems to be a few posts on here that say, it's not my car , or it belongs to a friend, is that true ? or are there still guys out there that will not admit to owning a Studebaker?
I have wanted one since I first say a Bullet Nosed one in my neighborhood when I was 13, when I turned 16 the original owner of that car had given it to his grandson and it was for sale for $300, my dad wouldn't let me buy it saying that nothing that ugly was going to sit in his drive way ...well about 6 or so years ago I finally got one, a 50 Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe, and the first place I drove to when I got it running was my parents house ,pulled up in front of the house , layed on the horn till my dad came out to see what the hell was making all that noise and I yelled ,look what I bought, he shook his head and went back in the house... I still own it and just recently bought three more, the ones I posted earlier, now I own four.
This is the first one. IMG_20171130_225400.jpeg IMG_20171130_225311.jpeg

This is my step dad's. It's a 55 but with a 49 grill. He has done a lot to it over the past 30 years that he has owned it.
    Studebaker 001.jpg
Here is a list of what I know has been done to it (90% by him):
    Chopped 5" rear / 4" front
    Sectioned 2"
50 Chevy truck headlight portion of the fender molded into the Stude fender
    350 Chevy with a Muncie 4 speed
    90's Corvette front suspension
    4 link rear
It was originally tubbed for some wide tires in the back, don't remember what he put on it
Custom frame front and rear sections fabbed by him
He had a guy do the chop and section, but then he died and my step dad had to finish it.
My mom and him moved to New Zealand back in 2002. So this is the only picture I have of it. It was still in the build phase the last time I saw it.

A few pictures of my 1960 Studebaker, disguised to look like a 1953. 500 inch Cad, Turbo 400, top chopped 2 inches in the front. I can't take credit for building it, bought it from a friend as a Christmas present to my self in 2014. Bob 001 (3).jpg 001.jpg 002 (2).jpg 004.jpg scan0016.jpg

OK. I'll admit to owning and driving one for the past 25 years.

But, as I like to say, I wouldn't have been caught dead driving a car like mine to high school in 1957.
