No doubt! Now you mostly see fuzzy pajama bottoms and flip flops in Walmart.

  9. Cooler, yes, BUT safety was prevalent also and lots of folks chose the post for safety in a roll over. That's why you see Bel Air with post.
In tri-five Chevy used "sport" to denote hardtop with no post. You either had a Coupe or a Sport Coupe, a Sedan or a Sport Sedan.
Not sure what Ford called their hardtop vs. post. Anyone know?
I have owned a 56 Chev Sport Sedan and a 55 Ford fordor hardtop. On a big bump the Ford rear doors would pop open. No such problem with the Chev.
I always thought it odd Chev did not have a Sport Sedan (4 door hardtop) in 55 When Ford had one.

Modern photo, was on a muscle car calendar, probably a restoration with some liberties taken.

My Grandfather. No date on the photo but sometime in the 40's from the other photos and he passed in '49.

Since some if y'all like drag racers.

Can't vouch for HOW vintage they are, but I know they weren't taken yesterday. 4dd794ab-90b4-47a2-8589-d5979eb37544.jpeg c5533900-3884-4a37-b975-b35430d4d7e5.jpeg

I stumbled upon a few that I "believe" to be new for this thread, all around the Pittsburgh PA area.
This one is in Carrick, 1934.
